[Korea] KT&G Foundation Scholarships 2010 for Master Degree Program at Yonsei University

The KT&G Foundation offers scholarships to the Turkish, Iranian, Russian, Kazakhstani, Indonesian students who seek a master`s degree at theGraduate School of International Studies (GSIS) of Yonsei University:


Eligibility and Conditions
1. Degree: A Bachelor`s degree or an equivalent degree.
2. Age : No limit.
3. Health: Applicants must be in both sound physical and mental health.
4. English Language Proficiency: Applicants must possess strong English language proficiency (Recommended score of TOEFL CBT 237 (IBT 93/PBT 580), IELTS 6.5 or above).
5. Arrival in Korea: Scholarship recipients must arrive in Korea by February 23, 2010 and must attend the new student orientation program on February 24, 2010 at Yonsei GSIS.
6. Application Period: All necessary documents must be submitted to the Yonsei GSIS office between September 1, 2009 ~ November 30, 2009. All original documents should arrive at the GSIS office by this date.

Terms of Fellowship
The scholarship covers a maximum of 24 months (2 years), from March 2010 to February 2012. Students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0/ 4.3 every semester to maintain fellowship eligibility.

Scholarship Details
1. Tuition fee: The KT&G Foundation will provide tuition fee for Spring 2010 through Fall 2011 (up to 4 semesters).
2. Stipend: The KT&G Foundation will provide a monthly stipend of KRW 1,000,000(= USD 892) for up to 24 months.

Obligations
1. Participation in a field trip, a roundtable conference prepared by the Foundation
2. Participation in events and activities upon request from the school or the foundation
3. Submission of a report on your life in Korea two months prior to your graduation and a copy of your Master`s thesis
4. KT&G Fellowship recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.3 scale in order to retain their scholarship. If they fail in this requirement at any time, their scholarship will be cancelled and they will be ineligible to receive it again in further semesters.
5. If a KT&G Fellowship recipient decides to withdraw from their program of study they must pay the KT&G Foundation the full amount of the scholarship received up to the time of withdrawal.

Master`s (two-year program) in country from an accredited Faculty of Medicine/Public Health with a concentration in Field Epidemiology an emphasis (through intensive coursework) on principles of epidemiology, epidemiology ofinfectious diseases, methods of prevention and eradication of infectious diseases, principles of outbreak investigations, basic and advanced biostatistics, animal and public health surveillance systems.

4. Master`s Degree in Field Epidemiology
Master`s in the U.S. from a school of veterinary science with a concentration in Epidemiology and emphasis (through intensive coursework) on principles of epidemiology, epidemiology ofinfectious diseases, methods of prevention and eradication of infectious diseases , principles of outbreak investigations, basic and advanced biostatistics, animal and public health surveillance systems, and animal and public health policy.

5. Master`s Degree specializing in Coastal and Marine Conservation or Fisheries Management
Master`s program in the U.S. from a program specializing in the following indicative areas:
a. Conservation of Coastal and Marine Resources,
b. Marine and Coastal Zone Management,
c. Fisheries Resources Management,
d. Sustainable Fisheries Resources.

6. Master`s Degree in Energy Sector
Master`s program in the U.S. specializing in Energy/Environmenta l Engineering with a concentration in, but not limited, to Energy Engineering, Energy Planning and Policy, Energy Economics, Energy Management, Energy and Environmental Policy, Clean and Renewable Energy Management, Energy Efficiency Management, Energy and Sustainability, or Energy and Environmental Law.

7. Master`s Degree in Climate Change
Academic/degree program at master`s level in the U.S. from a U.S. University focusing on climate change adaptation or mitigation.

8. PhD, Master, or Bachelor Degree Program for Economics
PhD, Master or Bachelor degree in Economics, Finance, Management, Accounting, Insurance, Agriculture, Agribusiness, or Public Policy.

9. Master`s Degrees from U.S. Universities in Public Affairs, Public Policy, Political Science, Public Administration, Public Management, Non-profit Management or related fields.

10. Master`s Degree in Public Health
Master`s (one-year or two-year program) in the U.S. from a school of public health with a concentration in either International Health or Epidemiology/ Biostatistics with an emphasis (through intensive coursework) on nutrition, maternal and child health, reproductive health, demography, health systems, health financing, health policy.

11. Master`s Degree in Education
The objective of the HICD/Education program is to build human capacity within GOI Ministries of Education (MONE), Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA), and Coordinating Ministry for People`s Welfare (KESRA) to better support quality improvements to the basic education and higher education sub-sectors.

12. Long term training for decentralization and local governance
Master`s degrees in US on topics such as Public Administration, Public Management, Public Policy, Political Science, Regional Planning and other topics of importance to public service and leadership in Indonesia`s regional government.

Doctoral Position (Research and Teaching Assistant) Chair of Professor J. Goeree at University of Zurich, Switzerland

The candidate is expected to do research during a period of four years leading to a doctoral thesis. In addition, he or she will be involved in teaching activities. A bachelor`s or master`s degree in economics, mathematics or physics is required. The focus of the research in our group is on microeconomics, in particular, auction theory and mechanism design. The programme of this Master following Bachelor is essentially structured around the following themes: basic study of non-polluted environments; sources and causes of environmental pollution; methodologies for detection and analysis of environmental pollution; prevention and abatement of environmental pollution; treatment of waste; clean technology and environmental toxicology including the methodologies for risk assessment.




Eligibility:
The programme is open to students who have a bachelor`s degree in exact or applied sciences of minimum three years with good overall scores (at least a second class or equivalent, preferably higher) from a university or recognized equivalent. Adequate knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry at university level is an absolute requirement. Previous knowledge of biology, microbiology and/or soil science is an advantage but not a requisite. The candidate`s application file will be evaluated in all cases, independent of the diploma. The candidate must be proficient in English.

The Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies will admit 15 PhD students to its doctoral program to begin October 1, 2010. Ten of these candidates will receive aGraduate School grant; the other candidates will be supported in their quest for funding.

The Graduate School invites applications from candidates whose dissertation project fits one of the Graduate Schools Research Areas.
